So the Art Committee & friends prepared some pretty neat posters and banners this past Wednesday, on top of the super awesome tshirts that we made with the stencils I created last weekend. Though we didn't get quite as many people/volunteers as we were hoping to, there were a handful of enthusiastic participants who were all about expressing their views on the war and imperialism in general. We had some good music, some donated paint and paintbrushes, some fabric we found, and paint fumes (which made it all the more fun.. kidding, kidding, but the ventilation process was interesting as it was rather cold outside and we had to decide between freezing or killing brain cells.).
My roommate's brother also came up this weekend for his high school spring break and was rather excited to be involved in the action. He also helped me get some of the materials, as all of our attempts to go to Rutland failed-- between the stores being closed because it was Sunday, the power outages of Monday, my boyfriend being unable to find his keys, my neighbor Becky's car suddenly breaking down, my roommate being in DC, and my other friend, Dave, having an impromptu soccer practice, things just didn't look good for a while. But Ashley's brother Tyler saved the day by not only helping us get the materials, but also working on some posters. So go him!
Here are some pictures of the results. More to come on Saturday when we finish painting some of the donated sheets we got.
