It's been a while since I've updated, but that's only because school was winding down and between packing, final projects, and final exams... things were hectic.
So I'm finally back home and feel settled in again. Currently doing the laundry that I neglected for the past... way too long to state, especially since my mom reads these :). In the past three days I've managed to see just about all of my friends from home, even if for just a few seconds. That's definitely one of the best aspects about coming home. I don't care how many amazing friends you make at college, you still miss your old friends after a while, and their hugs are some of the warmest hugs around.
Ironically enough, however, I am returning to Poultney for the next few days to hang out and see some friends graduate on Saturday. I have a couple of different friends who have apartments in the area, and they've both said I can hang there and chill until that time. I make it a point to visit Poultney once a summer (last time I waited much longer before actually visiting, but I've a very full summer ahead of me, and I wanted to make sure I could squeeze it in before I started working my two jobs). Every summer I have friends who live up there, and it's such a beautiful location I really can't stay away.
So this summer looks like it's going to involve:
1) Subsituting at my old high school and/or for elementary para-professionals (they work with children who have special educational needs)
2) Pool monitoring. Doesn't it sound like the perfect job? I have to clean the pool in the morning... the rest of the day, I just sit in the sun and make conversation with the locals. The only down side is I have very very very very pale skin.
3) Blogging to keep everyone informed about what's going on
4) Going to Tibet from July 3-19, which also includes 2 15 page papers and four books I have to read
5) Potentially visiting a state park in Maine to go camping/hiking for a week in the middle of nowhere (I really want to do this, but I'm already losing time and money by going on that trip to Tibet... I really should be considering my monetary funds more...)
6) Waiting for my sister's child and my friend's child to be born. I'm going to be an Auntie and a Godmother! Yipeee!
7) Studying for Praxis I, which I hope to take early September or some time in October
8) Having fun!
Alright, so I'll be adding more fun pictures once I get a cord and my computer's bugs get fixed. Until then, enjoy the sun!
