So a couple friends (Dave and Sasha) from Poultney came to visit yesterday, a visit that clearly signifies the members in my GMC group can't stay away from each other for too long! They'll be staying for an undetermined amount of time, and really, it was sort of an improv trip much like the trip I took to visit them, but I'm glad they're around.
Right after I got out of work yesterday, I zoomed as quickly as I could (without speeding, of course :) )over to Brent's house, which is where they'll be staying for the time they're around. As is the tradition in Poultney, we immediately decided we needed to go swimming, so Brent and I showed them our swimming hole.

Here's a picture of Dave walking around the river we went to.
It was a lot of fun to show Poultney friends what I call home, and I really think they enjoyed themselves, too. Here are a few pictures I took while we hung out by the river.

And yet another pic of Dave. I really like the angles I was messing around with.

And here's Sasha trying to warm up after a rather chilly dip.

There's a rope swing attached to this tree that one cannot see in these pictures. Right before swinging from it, Sasha realized she had her hat on, and promptly used the tree as a hat rack. It sort of amused me, probably only because I would have never thought about something like this and would have merely discarded my hat on the dirty ground.
While walking back, Sasha noticed some trash and started to pick it up with a plastic bag we found on the ground. This act of hers made me realize how much garbage there was, so we ended up going on environmental patrol and picked up the entire trail back. We had two rather large bags full of bottles and other items, which is sad, but at the same time, we felt good picking up the mess.
Afterwards, we spent the night trying to organize a role playing game called Vampire. Yeah. Geeky. I know. Pam C, recent graduate of GMC who lives about fifteen minutes away, also joined us for the Vampire session. Sasha and Dave had never played before, so it was fun to see how they played their characters. I think they both did rather well, but there were so many people involved (which was distracting to everyone trying to begin the role playing game, as it takes a while to get all of the random characters in the same area where they can all be actively involved in the scenarios that are going on) and a rather inexperienced person trying to direct it all, so it flopped within the first couple hours. I really liked where the plot was going, however, so hopefully we'll organize another session of Vampire next weekend sometime with the same characters and plot. If not, I at least want to roleplay the character I created again, as I rather enjoyed being inside his head.
Well I guess that's it for now!
