So I returned from good old Poultney yesterday, after spending some warm, relaxing days hanging out by the Poultney river, chilling with friends who were still in the area, and watching some other friends graduate from college. Overall, I had an amazing time, which is pretty funny, considering it was a last minute decision, and I hadn't even made sure I had a place to stay for the nights I was going to be up there when I decided to go. Well, every now and then impulsivity is key, eh?

This is one of the best pictures I took. Needless to say, Alejandro was overwhelmed with joy at the fact that he graduated!
So I took a ton of pictures during the visit, and also got a cable from my bosses so I could upload said pictures.
As a nature person, I definitely explored the woods for a while behind the river and took pictures of everything and anything that interested me. Let me say, there were many interesting things.

I've been learning a few photography techniques from my friend (and art major!) Chelsea. This picture is definitely Chelsea-esque... I love the fact that she put the world into a new perspective for me. Everything is a potential picture, now.

I climbed a tree for the first time since I was like... nine? I thought that the place where the three trees came together was cool looking, so I took a quick picture.

I found a pair of sunglasses by the side of the river, but I didn't have a mirror to see what I looked like with them on, so I took a picture of myself. I look like a bug! I love it.

I think that ferns are the coolest looking things when they are first growing. I don't know what it is.

Look at the ant tunnels in this tree! The bark peeled off and exposed them. Sweet!

I feel like this should be a card of some kind. I don't know. Like a get better soon card? "Get better soon! Look at this red berry and this stick. It makes me smile. It should make you smile too, and consequently, increase your likeliness for good health!" Ha.

I like this picture. Look closely. Although the trunk of the tree is primarily destroyed, there are still green leaves sprouting from the tree. It's fascinating how resilient life is.

This is by far the coolest tree I've EVER seen. The fact that an entire tree could grow OVER an old stump? Weird.

I really like this rock. It looks exactly like a face to me. Creepy.
And now some pictures of friends:

This is a picture of Dave-- he lives at the apartment I stayed at for the few days I was up in Poultney. I really like this picture-- he looks so happy.

Here's Chelsea! I love the face she made in this picture.
So that was my visit. Today I plan on cleaning the house for my mother, and then figuring out work for the rest of the week.
Peace!

Great pictures! Those dandy ferns are fiddleheads and they're delicious when they're in that stage of growth. Most of them have probably unfurled by now, but if you catch them when they're balled up and fry them in some olive oil with whatever spices: yum. Hope your summer's a marvey.
