I'm not sure how common certain circumstances in my life are compared to the average person, but, I quite often get random phone calls from people who want to know if I want to go to rather random places with them. Last year during some spring vacation, at around 9pm on some lethargic Thursday, I was asked if I wanted to go to Boston by a friend, even though I had work the next evening. I hesitantly agreed under two conditions: he would have to hurl his body in front of mine if I were shot at and under no circumstances were we to enter Chinatown (I almost got mugged in broad daylight in Chinatown before, so I have a legitimate reasons.)
Naturally, about two hours later, I was in a parking garage in the middle of Boston's Chinatown. And it's a good thing for him we weren't shot at. After meandering through the streets, we eventually found our way to a T, and consequently Cambridge, grabbed some midnight pizza with the local college students still in session, and proceeded to walk around only to discover that the T had closed and we were a whopping 13 miles away from our vehicle. At this point, it was 1:30 am, and we could either wait until the T opened at 6am in what was now looking to be like rain (and boy, was it ever RAIN), or walk those 13 miles back to our car. So we walked. In the rain. For more than 13 miles because we got lost. Around 7am, we turned the corner into Chinatown and ate some of the best McDonald's breakfast sandwiches I have ever tasted and proceeded to drive home.
Perhaps it's stories like that that make me say "no" more often now, though I do have to admit that seeing the sun rise over the sluggish Charles was certainly one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. Perhaps this is why I told Brent, when he called me around 3pm asking if I wanted to go down to Rhode Island with him to pick up his cousin (oh, we'll be back by this evening around 9 or 10, he said!) I said no, as I had already promised the high school I would work the next day, which amounted to waking up at 6am. Perhaps.
In any case, Brent picked up his cousin, and we spent Thursday hanging out with her and the friend that she brought up along with her. And that's where this blog really begins.
Since she brought her friend up, and Dunbarton NH is not the most exciting place in the world, we decided to have one of our bonfires in our little sand pit and invite a few friends over. It was pretty nice, though I have to admit her friend was a lot more social than she was. In an attempt to get her into a better mood, I took some fascinating photos of her, which I really enjoy.

As we hung out in the great wilderness and crept ourselves out by the sounds we heard in the woods (we eventually discovered it was the sound of the fire echoing off the trees and such, but it was scary at the time!) we chatted, joked, and generally made fun of one another (isn't that what college students do best?) and I took more photos.
Here's a side shot of Brent as he is talking to his cousin. He was giving her some good old cousin advice at the time-- it was pretty cute. He's really trying to look out for her, since her family life has been a little hectic lately, and she's a couple years younger than us, so she's not dealing with it as well as one might hope.

What an intense fire we had!!

Here's another one of Chad, our resident Vampire expert. By that I mean, he usually runs our Vampire campaigns. I guess this picture is appropriate, then, since he looks pretty creepy in it. But don't be afeared. He's a pretty cool duuude.

Here are a couple others. The girl in this picture is actually one of my sister's old best friends (back in the day!) She used to live right down my street, and every now and then I bump into her again at friendly gatherings. It was cool to see her-- oh, and she was as excited as I was about pictures, so I wasn't the only photo fanatic.

^^ This one is by far my favorite.
So. It was a decent time. I got to see a lot of cool people as well as get to know Brent's cousin and her friend better. We're planning on hanging out at my friend Becky's house tonight, so I'm sure I'll have more updates about them on Saturday. Until then: peace.
