So. Came back from a long day last week to discover a phone message from a good friend back home.

I'm officially a godmother!
Gabrielle Maximus LaPenn was born on Wednesday, October 3rd at 1:27pm. He was 7lbs 10 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. To top it off, isn't he the cutest??
I felt bad for his mom, Katie. They had to perform a cesarean section, so she had to stay in the hospital until this past Sunday. But now she's feeling just fine, and the baby's doing well. Hoorah!

Yeah. Pretty sure he's the cutest thing ever.
Other than that, the same old same old. Busy, busy, trying to get a bunch of papers and such done before our fall break, which is coming up this weekend and into next week. Should have some interesting entries afterwards, as there's a bunch of exciting adventures planned. Mid-terms are also coming up-- and I've got a lot of teachers who have assigned large projects rather than tests. I'm usually all for this, as I feel that projects are a much better way of determining whether or not a student has obtained the knowledge from a class and can apply it (rather than just memorizing the necessary information), and the projects are going to be quite valuable... but.. I'm still feeling overwhelmed. I think I'll feel better after this much needed break.
And of course, I have to add a picture celebrating the season! Happy Autumn!
