So I am officially in love with the English Department.
I'll give you a couple guesses as to what event this flier is advertising.

How about this one?

Details inside.
I guess this one might give it away... or not.

Yeah. The English/Philosophy/Communication departments are showing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) on campus this week. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but it is HILARIOUS. My high school actually put on a version of this for a drama competition one year (in which we made it to New England’s, aka, we WON for the state of New Hampshire!) It's no wonder--it's extremely funny and because it's so fast-paced, actors involved often find themselves improvising parts, which makes it even more hysterical (especially if the actors know Shakespeare well). I was actually in the Set Design for this particular show, as I am not that great at comedic acting, but we did get an award for the set!! So boo-yeah!
Anyways. There are many reasons to love this college. As such, I'm working on a bit of a project (shhh... don't tell my boss yet, I want to surprise him! Hopefully he won't get the chance to read this entry?) But here it is: I'm going to go around asking people why they like GMC and make it into a youtube video with music backdrop, etc. I think it'll be a fun little project for me because I love this place so much and I love making movies, as I've recently discovered. I think it'll also be a great thing to have in the future, long after I've graduated from here. I'll just sit back and watch it and remember "the good old days." And even if it takes a couple semesters to get all the footage (you know, some from winter, spring, summer, and fall), it'll eventually be done... and it'll be FABULOUS.
Oh, speaking of videos--I completed the one I was working on for my Secondary Methods class. I'll be posting a link up to it soon.
Until then, peace!

Well, I suppose you can love the English Department for coming up with the idea, and letting me use their faces, but really, you ought to love the work-study student who actually had to pretend she was artistic enough to do all that (aka, me)!
